Basic Life Insurance Riders
Riders are amendments or supplements to your life insurance policy. They can add a feature that you are interested in, or they can take out features that you might not want included.
Depending on what your needs are, after obtaining life insurance quotes from insurance companies, you should sit down with an insurance company agent that you have chosen and discuss with them your insurance needs. They can determine for you whether or not you might need additional riders.
If you do not need a life insurance rider, then you should not purchase one. They can add extra money to your insurance policy and might weigh it down. Again, what we recommend is writing down what your life insurance needs are and then discussing these with your insurance company agent.
